Rep. Adam Smith, currently serving in the U.S. Congress for Washington’s 9th district, issued a series of tweets concerning current issues on April 8 and 9 of 2025.
On April 8, he addressed a recent decision by the Trump administration, stating "Without warning, the Trump administration canceled the visas of at least 7 UW students and four recent graduates." The following day, April 9, Smith drew attention to the need for organ donors in Washington, where "1,367 Washingtonians [are] waiting for an organ transplant." He called for support for organ donors and emphasized the importance of registering as organ donors to save lives.
Later that day, Smith commented on economic policies, stating that "Trump’s tariffs are about power. Not power for America—but power for himself." This tweet was accompanied by hashtags referencing the former President and the tariffs.
