Rep. Adam Smith discusses federal impacts and celebrates St. Patrick's Day

Rep. Adam Smith, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington's 9th district, shared several updates on social media regarding his legislative efforts and local engagements. Smith has been a member of Congress since 1997 after replacing Randy Tate and has a history of public service dating back to his time in the Washington State Senate from 1991 to 1997.

On March 16, 2025, Rep. Adam Smith tweeted about hearing from a constituent named Majen in Bellevue regarding potential impacts of federal firings on Washingtonians. He encouraged others to share their stories by visiting a provided link. "I heard from Majen in Bellevue about how federal firings could have a real impact on Washingtonians."

The following day, March 17, 2025, he reflected on the third anniversary of introducing the Empowering Individuals to Succeed Through Education and Workforce Training Act. This legislation established a fund aimed at providing support services and stipends for participants in workforce training and two-year education programs. "Three years ago, I introduced the Empowering Individuals to Succeed Through Education and Workforce Training Act..."

Later that day, Rep. Smith also extended holiday greetings via Twitter with a simple message celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. "Happy St. Patrick’s Day!"
