Adam Smith supports Senator Booker's protest, addresses healthcare concerns

Rep. Adam Smith, a member of the U.S. Congress serving Washington's 9th district, expressed support for Senator Corey Booker's ongoing Senate floor protest and addressed concerns regarding Medicaid cuts on April 1, 2025.

In a post on Twitter dated April 1, 2025, Rep. Smith supported Senator Booker, who has been holding the Senate floor since 7 pm the previous night. Smith stated, "Senator Booker has been holding the Senate floor since 7 pm last night -- it's been 14 hours and he's still going strong. I support Senator Booker's efforts to bring attention to the dangers of the Trump Administration's reckless policies."

In another post on April 1, 2025, Rep. Smith mentioned a conversation with a Washingtonian resident named Akilina, who shared concerns about potential Medicaid cuts. He said, "I heard from Akilina in Seattle about how cuts to Medicaid could have a real impact on Washingtonians." He invited others to share their stories via a provided link.

Rep. Smith also shared a link to another resource through a subsequent tweet.
