U.S. Congressman Adam Smith has been actively engaging with his constituents and discussing pressing local issues through his social media presence. On March 28, 2025, he addressed a spectrum of topics from housing affordability to healthcare impacts and food justice in the state of Washington.

In his first tweet, Smith highlighted the significant rise in housing costs over the decades. Reflecting on a personal account, Smith stated, "In 1970, my father bought a house for $15,000. Last year, the average home in King County sold for over $850,000. We need more available and affordable housing that working-class families can afford." This statement brings attention to the growing challenge of housing affordability, emphasizing the need for solutions that cater to working-class families.

Later the same day, Smith referenced a conversation with a constituent regarding Medicaid. He shared, "I heard from Leslie in Renton about how Medicaid could have a real impact on Washingtonians." He encouraged others to share their experiences via a submission link, underscoring the potential benefits of Medicaid for the residents of Washington state.

Smith's engagement with his community continued as he tweeted about a recent event he attended in Renton. He wrote, "I met with some folks in Renton for a Food Justice Mini Town Hall. We need to make sure that everyone is fed and support those throughout King County." This initiative is indicative of his ongoing efforts to address food security and support community members in King County.
