Rep. Adam Smith, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 9th district, has been active on social media discussing various issues from health awareness to housing policies. Born in Washington, D.C., and currently residing in Bellevue, Smith has been part of the U.S. Congress since 1997 after replacing Randy Tate. He holds a BA from Fordham University and a JD from the University of Washington.

On March 24, 2025, Rep. Adam Smith highlighted National Kidney Month by drawing attention to chronic kidney disease affecting 35.5 million people in the United States. He emphasized the importance of regular healthcare visits, managing blood pressure, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle to monitor kidney health. Later that day, Smith announced his collaboration with colleagues from the Pacific Northwest in urging the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to keep field offices open in Seattle and Portland.
