Rep. Adam Smith, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 9th district, has been active on social media discussing a range of issues. With a career that began in the Washington State Senate and transitioned to Congress in 1997, Smith has shared his perspectives on housing legislation, military service recognition, and gun violence remembrance through recent tweets.

On March 22, 2025, Rep. Adam Smith announced via Twitter his legislative efforts aimed at curbing hedge funds' involvement in the housing market. He stated: "Last month, I introduced legislation to continue my effort to kick hedge funds out of our nation’s housing market. Too many families struggle to meet rent payments or even afford to buy a home because large investors are squeezing out prospective buyers."

Later that day, Smith acknowledged the contributions of American troops as he holds the position of Ranking Member of the Armed Services Committee. He expressed gratitude towards a historic group of servicemen by tweeting: "As Ranking Member of the Armed Services Committee, I see how our nation’s troops give everything for their country. I thank the Tuskegee Airmen who were activated for service on this day in 1941 for their immense bravery and trailblazing in our nation’s military."

In another tweet dated March 23, 2025, Rep. Adam Smith reflected on an incident involving gun violence that occurred four years prior. His tweet reads: "Four years ago, we lost ten lives due to senseless gun violence. The victims of the Boulder, Colorado shooting are remembered today."
