Rep. Adam Smith, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington's 9th district, shared a series of tweets on February 19, 2025, addressing various issues from corporate practices to historical remembrance and political critique.

On February 19, 2025, Rep. Adam Smith expressed his concerns about DOGE's business practices in a tweet stating, "#DOGE is firing thousands without actually addressing the root causes of waste fraud and abuse."

Later that day, Smith commemorated a significant historical event by tweeting about the Day of Remembrance for Japanese Internment. He remarked, "February 19 marks the Day of Remembrance for Japanese Internment. On this day, we remember the wrongful incarceration of 120,000 Japanese Americans as the result of Executive Order 9066. I stand with Japanese Americans in my district and across our nation, and I will continue to…"

In another tweet on the same day, Smith criticized former President Donald Trump by comparing him unfavorably to Neville Chamberlain and commenting on Trump's relationship with Vladimir Putin. He tweeted: "Donald Trump makes Neville Chamberlin look like a strong courageous leader. Stalin’s useful idiot quote doesn’t even begin to explain how pathetic Trump’s sucking up to Putin has been. I guess peace through weakness is the Trump doctrine."
