Rep. Adam Smith, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 9th district, shared his thoughts on various issues through a series of tweets on February 7, 2025. These tweets addressed concerns regarding the Trump-Musk administration, domestic spending challenges, and health disparities affecting the Black community.

On February 7, Rep. Adam Smith expressed significant concern about the current political climate under the Trump-Musk administration. He stated his fears explicitly in a tweet: "What are my concerns about the Trump-Musk Administration? A fascist takeover of the United States of America."

Later that day, Smith accused former President Donald Trump of defying legal directives related to domestic funding allocations. In another tweet posted on February 7, he wrote: "Trump is still blocking approved funds for domestic spending in clear violation of the court order. $ for wildfire prevention and other programs in WA State cut off. This is fascism. Laws, rules just trashed in favor of one man’s whims."

In a separate message also shared on February 7, Rep. Smith highlighted National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day by acknowledging ongoing racial disparities within healthcare systems that affect members of the Black community disproportionately. He tweeted: "February 7 is National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, where we recognize how these diseases disproportionately affect members of the Black community. I am working every day to tackle racism and discrimination, particularly in the health care industry, to allow every Washingtonian…"
