Rep. Adam Smith, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington's 9th district, has been vocal on social media regarding various political and social issues. On January 28, 2025, he criticized President Trump's recent actions during his first week in office. "With just one week under his belt, President Trump has cut funding to repair infrastructure, released violent criminals who attacked our nation’s police officers, and derailed climate change efforts by pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement." He further questioned what President Trump had not done yet.

On January 29, 2025, Rep. Smith extended greetings for a cultural celebration. "Happy Lunar New Year! Wishing everyone good health and prosperity."

In another tweet on January 29, 2025, Rep. Smith reflected on a significant legislative milestone from the past while addressing ongoing pay disparities. "President Obama signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act on this day in 2009, fighting pay inequalities between men and women." He highlighted that women are still paid less than men for similar work and emphasized the need for fair and equal pay.
