Mars-themed Valentine's Day event features bestselling author Mary Roach

An event titled "Valentine’s Day at the Museum Becomes a Mars Love Affair - An Evening with Mary Roach" is set to take place, featuring an exclusive VIP reception. The reception will occur from 6-6:45 p.m. in the vintage Red Barn and includes a complimentary glass of wine, heavy appetizers, and reserved seating for a fireside talk.

Tickets for the VIP Experience are priced at $120. Attendees can also purchase add-ons such as a signed edition of "Packing for Mars" for $28 and a build-your-own box of Seattle Chocolate Company chocolates for $25.

Mary Roach, known for her seven New York Times bestsellers including "STIFF: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers," "GULP: Adventures on the Alimentary Canal," and "PACKING FOR MARS: The Curious Science of Life in the Void," will be present at the event. Her latest book is titled "FUZZ: When Nature Breaks the Law." Roach's works have been translated into 21 languages, and her second book, "SPOOK," was recognized as a New York Times Notable Book.

In addition to her books, Mary Roach has contributed to publications such as National Geographic, Wired, The New York Times Magazine, and the Journal of Clinical Anatomy. She has served as guest editor for the Best American Science and Nature Writing series and held positions like Osher Fellow with the San Francisco Exploratorium. Furthermore, she advises Orion and Undark magazines. Among her accolades are being a finalist for the Royal Society's Winton Prize and winning an award from the American Engineering Societies' Engineering Journalism Award category.
