Rep. Adam Smith, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington's 9th district, shared several updates through his social media platform on December 11 and 12, 2024. These posts highlight his ongoing commitments to various issues including support for the transgender community, climate change initiatives, and housing affordability.

On December 11, Rep. Smith recounted a phone call with a military family he met seven years ago in Washington D.C., focusing on their daughter Blue, a young transgender girl. He stated, "Today, I got a phone call from someone I first met 7 years ago...A military family and their daughter, a young trans girl named Blue, came to Washington D.C. and met me. I promised Blue 7 years ago that I would fight to protect the trans community."

On December 12, he commemorated the ninth anniversary of the Paris Climate Agreement by emphasizing its significance in combating climate change. He affirmed his dedication to environmental protection with the statement: "Today we celebrate nine years of the Paris Climate Agreement, a landmark accord to combat climate change and fight for a low carbon future. We only have one world, and I’ll continue fighting to protect it."

Later that day, Rep. Smith addressed housing affordability issues by announcing his efforts towards legislative measures aimed at reducing housing costs: "The cost of housing is too expensive, which is why I'm working on commonsense legislation to make it more affordable."
