The tweets, posted on November 20 and 21, 2024, highlight his concern for public safety during adverse weather conditions and his recognition of National Family Caregivers Month.

On November 20, Rep. Smith expressed his concern regarding the impact of a storm in western Washington. He conveyed his condolences to those affected by the storm's fatalities: "Deeply concerned about the impacts of this storm on everyone in western Washington, and my thoughts are with the loved ones of those who have passed away."

The following day, November 21, Rep. Smith acknowledged National Family Caregivers Month by highlighting the often-overlooked contributions of caregivers: "November is National Family Caregivers Month, where we recognize those who provide care for their loved ones. This essential work often goes unnoticed. It’s time for that to change."

Later that same day, he addressed ongoing power outages affecting many residents due to the recent storm. Emphasizing safety as a priority, he stated: "I know many of us are still without power. Your safety is of the upmost importance."
