Puget Sound firefighters knock down vacant house fire

Puget Sound firefighters responded to a house fire along the 16600 block of Military Road South in SeaTac this afternoon.

The fire sent a dark plume of smoke into the air just after  lunchtime. This stubborn fire required a mutual aid response from  multiple fire agencies including Tukwila Fire Department,

Port of  Seattle and South King Fire and Rescue.

Firefighters arrived and found a large amount of smoke and fire  coming from a single-story vacant house. Firefighters extinguished the  fire in approximately 40 minutes.

King County Medic One also responded and provided rehab and medical  support for the fire crews. Fortunately, there were no injuries to  firefighters. After the fire was extinguished,

Puget Sound Fire worked  with the homeowner and contacted a board up company to secure the  structure.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
