Representative Adam Smith of Washington's Ninth District, a seasoned lawmaker serving in the U.S. Congress since 1997 and a former Washington State Senate member, recently shared significant updates and reminders with his constituents via social media. His background includes a Bachelor of Arts from Fordham University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Washington. Smith lives in Bellevue, having been born in Washington, D.C.

On April 21, 2025, Smith emphasized the importance of immigration reform by posting about the Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act, which he introduced alongside Senator Cory Booker and Representative Pramila Jayapal. "On April 20, 2023, I introduced the Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act alongside @SenBooker and @RepJayapal. Our country needs this legislation now more than ever, to maintain the humanity of all immigrants."

Celebrating Earth Day on April 22, 2025, Representative Smith expressed gratitude for living in Washington’s Ninth District. "Happy Earth Day to everyone in Washington’s Ninth District. Thankful to represent and live in such a beautiful place, and I’ll continue to fight to protect it."

In another post on the same day, Smith reminded constituents of the impending submission deadline for the Congressional Art Competition. He urged artists to deliver their pieces to his Kent office by 5 p.m. and provided a link for further information. "REMINDER: Tomorrow is the last day to submit pieces to the Congressional Art Competition. Please drop off your artwork to my Kent office before 5 p.m. For more information, visit https://t.co/DYy5vziXL5."

In addition to his congressional duties, Smith has been an advocate for both immigration reform and environmental conservation, reflecting his long-standing commitment to representing his constituents’ interests since taking over from Randy Tate in 1997.
