Des Moines home prices rise in the second half of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2017 in Des Moines rose by $42,950 while total sales decreased by 60.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2017, there were 74 homes sold, with a median sale price of $372,950 - a 13% increase over the $330,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 188 homes sold in Des Moines in the second half of 2016.

The median sales tax in Des Moines for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $3,602, approximately 1% of the median home sale price for the second half of 2017.
