Algona home prices rise in the third quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2018 in Algona rose by $43,650 while total sales increased by 37.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2018, there were 11 homes sold, with a median sale price of $320,000 - a 15.8% increase over the $276,350 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were eight homes sold in Algona in the third quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in Algona for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $2,716, approximately 0.8% of the median home sale price for the third quarter of 2018.
