Congratulations to Renton Rotary Students of the Month for February, 2023.
Michelle Fung, a senior at Hazen High School enjoys Calculus and AP Literature classes, and she’s involved in Hazen HOSA, Earth Corps, and Band. Outside of school she is a writer for What We Experience, a digital magazine about Asian Americans, she volunteers at the Bellevue Arts Museum, and works part-time at Mercer Island Family Eye Care. After high school, Michelle will study bioengineering or biochemistry before moving on to medical school for a career as an ophthalmologist.

Destin Hoffman, a senior at Lindbergh High School, enjoys math, science, English literature and French classes. He’s active with the Robotics Team serving as project manager and programmer. Outside of school, Destin works with nonprofits Sciencious and BioStrive and writes articles about STEM for a blog called NowScience. He works as part of a paid internship with AltaMed YouthChampions where he participates in workshops aimed at developing the next generation of healthcare professionals and business leaders. After graduation, he will attend Yale, Brown, Columbia or another university as a Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry major.  He hopes to become a Researcher to better understand neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

Syriah Boykin-Conerly, a senior at Renton High School enjoys History. She's a leader in several clubs including Black Student Union, K-Pop, Renton Freedom Crew, Renton Peer Mentors, Filipino Student Union, and Gay Straight Alliance (GSA). Syriah has volunteered as a tutor at the Boys and Girls Club and works part-time as a barista-trainer at Starbucks. After high school, she will attend a four-year university to double major in business and finance and minor in communications. She will become a real estate agent and one day own her own firm.  

Antonny Shneyder, a senior at Talley High School enjoys chemistry and physical education. Outside of his regular class schedule he takes Russian-language classes. After graduation, Antonny will enroll in a trade school to learn welding to one day own his own company.
