To comply with State and Federal regulations, the City of Pacific will be testing the drinking water for lead and copper. The City is looking for volunteers in single-family residences to participate in sampling collection.
The procedure is simple. On July 19th, an employee of the City’s Public Works Department will drop off a 1 liter sample bottle on your front porch with an instruction sheet. The resident will fill the sample bottle and complete the instruction sheet. The sample water must remain motionless in the pipes for at least 6 hours prior to the sample being collected and the sample must be the first water drawn after that time. The instruction sheet must be signed by the volunteer who collected the sample, and then place both the sample and the instruction sheet back on your porch where you found it. Samples will be picked up the next morning July 20th.
If you would like to participate in this test, please, e-mail the City’s Public Works Department at jschunke@pacificwa.gov, or call 253-929-1116. Please give your name and address.
