Fellow Citizens,
As a community, we are heartbroken over the school shooting that took place this week at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas that killed 19 children, 2 teachers and wounded 17 others.
We are feeling the deep pain and mourn alongside those in Uvalde as they struggle to come to terms with such horrific losses. As the news about this tragedy continues to unfold, it will no doubt be at the forefront of our minds for weeks to come.
The responsibility lies with all of us to remain diligent in keeping our children safe. If you or someone you know is aware of any threats, please report it to law enforcement and school district personnel. We are thankful for our local first responders who train alongside our schools in preparation for these types of events, so people in their facilities can respond to emergencies.
We ask that you please take a moment of silence to remember the 19 children and 2 teachers who were killed. They are:
