SeaTac police helped reunite movers with their property after an entire-truck full of property was stolen at a hotel in early February.
Kent police found the empty U-Haul truck abandoned in their city and had no suspects. Kent police declined to investigate further so SeaTac police took up the investigation.
When SeaTac police arrived at the Kent property, a truck with some of the stolen items was spotted in the driveway. The owner of the truck did not answer any calls and the suspect’s father was called, who told police that a U-Haul had been emptied in the early hours on Feb. 4 and that many items were stored in a container at his truck-repair business.
The suspect was detained and found in violation of probation and according to officers, admitted to storing, taking and transporting items he knew to be stolen.
A large amount of the stolen property was recovered and officers moved nearly two-bedrooms full of items into another truck to transport back to the victims.
