SeaTac City Council approved a contract to replace the playground equipment at the SeaTac Community Center in the

amount of $191.340.

The playground equipment at the SeaTac Community Center was installed in 2007 and is due for a replacement. The

proposal was accepted from AllPlay Systems, which was provided by the King County Directors’ Association.

KCDA is an organization that serves as a centralized procurement service to its members who are comprised of school

districts, public and government agencies, authorized under the Washington State Interlocal Cooperation Act. As a benefit of

City membership, KCDA saved the City time and money through volume purchasing as well as complying with all legal

procurement requirements.

This project replaces the equipment and installs new fall surfacing material to protect preschoolers and school-aged children

from injury. The selection of the playground equipment was based on the number of possible play activities, unique design,

and visual appearance. It is anticipated the playground equipment will be installed in late 2022 or early 2023.
