Rep. Adam Smith recently shared updates via his official Twitter account, addressing current political developments and legislative activities. Smith, who has been representing Washington’s 9th District in the U.S. Congress since 1997, highlighted milestones in national politics and detailed his participation in proposed legislation.
On April 30, 2025, Smith remarked on the 100 days milestone of President Trump’s second term, “It’s been 100 days of President Trump’s second presidency.”

In another post on April 30, Smith described initiating new legislation, writing, “This week, I joined @RepJerryNadler and @jahimes in introducing the West Bank Violence Prevention Act.”
Smith is currently a resident of Bellevue and has been a longstanding member of Congress, succeeding Randy Tate in 1997 after serving in the Washington State Senate. A graduate of Fordham University, Smith has extensive experience in law and politics, with a juris doctor from the University of Washington.
