Rep. Adam Smith, U.S. Congressman representing Washington’s 9th district since 1997, has recently addressed the White House’s transparency and the legality of boat strikes in the Caribbean through a series of media appearances.
On December 3, 2025, Smith stated on his social media account, “I joined @MSNOWNews to talk about the White House’s transparency with the boat strikes in the Caribbean.”
The following day, December 4, he posted another update: “I spoke with @komonews about the legality of the boat strikes in the Caribbean.”
Later that same day, Smith shared details about another interview: “I joined @NewsNation last night to discuss boat strikes on September 2nd.”
Smith’s comments come amid ongoing public interest regarding U.S. government actions in the Caribbean and their legal implications. Smith has been a member of Congress for nearly three decades after succeeding Randy Tate in 1997. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the Washington State Senate from 1991 to 1997. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1965, Smith resides in Bellevue and holds degrees from Fordham University and the University of Washington.
