Rep. Adam Smith, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 9th District, has shared several tweets discussing political issues and concerns. Serving since 1997, Smith’s education includes a BA from Fordham University and a JD from the University of Washington.

On April 1, 2025, Smith commented on his participation in a discussion on KUOW, expressing concerns about the current administration. He stated, “I joined @KUOW today to discuss how Trump is destroying our economy and weakening our nation. His Administration is defying laws, defying the constitution, and defying court orders. Trump’s reckless policies are devastating our country.”

Later that day, Smith acknowledged an insightful quote from colleague Chris Murphy, shared in The New Yorker. Smith expressed his alignment with Murphy’s sentiment, tweeting, “Came across this excellent quote from @ChrisMurphyCT in the latest @NewYorker. Completely agree with him.”

In a subsequent tweet, Smith listened to constituents’ concerns relating to federal workforce cuts, specifically highlighting a case in Seattle.
