Rep. Adam Smith, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 9th district, has recently expressed his views on several pressing issues through social media posts. Serving since 1997 after replacing Randy Tate, Smith is known for his active engagement in both national and international matters.

On June 14, 2025, Rep. Adam Smith shared his participation in the No Kings rally, opposing President Trump’s actions on that day. He stated, “I joined folks today to stand up against President Trump at the No Kings rally. Rather than honor the Army’s 250th birthday, he is recklessly wasting millions of dollars to throw himself a birthday party at 79 years old.” Smith criticized the administration’s financial priorities amidst budget cuts affecting critical needs.

In another post dated June 15, 2025, Rep. Smith voiced support for Israel amidst tensions with Iran. He remarked, “I support Israel in their efforts to defend themselves against the threat from Iran. Iran’s stated foreign policy has been the destruction of Israel since the Iranian Islamic Republic was formed over 45 years ago.” Smith highlighted the unique challenges faced by Israel in modern history.

Further engaging with his constituents, on June 16, 2025, Rep. Smith invited them to participate in an online discussion platform via a virtual town hall meeting. He announced this event by saying, “Please join me tonight for a Virtual Town Hall at 6:00 p.m. Hope to hear from you then.”

Rep. Adam Smith has consistently shown dedication to both local and international concerns throughout his career since graduating from Fordham University and earning a JD from the University of Washington.
