On June 17, 2025, Rep. Smith shared details about a Virtual Town Hall held on June 16, 2025. The event provided an opportunity for constituents to engage directly with him and discuss pressing issues.
Later that day, he addressed the housing affordability crisis in Seattle by announcing new legislation aimed at reducing construction costs and simplifying the permitting process. He stated, “As one of the most expensive cities in the nation, Seattle needs to fund more affordable housing.”

Adam Smith has represented Washington’s 9th District since replacing Randy Tate in 1997 after serving in the Washington State Senate from 1991 to 1997. Born in Washington D.C., he is a graduate of Fordham University and holds a JD from the University of Washington.
