Disasters don’t wait for a convenient time. Preparing for them shouldn’t wait either. Start today by limiting the impacts that disasters have on you and your family, know the risk of

disasters in your area and check your insurance coverage to ensure you are properly covered.  

Learn how to make your home stronger in the face of storms and other common hazards and act fast if you receive a local warning or alert.

1. Sign up for Alert King County   https://www.kingcounty.gov/depts/emergency-management/alert-king-county.aspx  If you live outside of the area subscribe to the regional alert      

 system where you reside.

2. Since our phones are our primary connection to lots of things have a back up power source.  External power supplies are small and will get you by until you can recharge.
