Composting is the natural process of recycling organic matter into a valuable fertilizer that can enrich soil and plants.
During the holidays, the plethora of food scraps will make excellent compost material. Bones from meat, vegetables, fruits and other food scraps are compostable. Paper products like pizza boxes, muffin wrappers and parchment paper used for baking are also compostable.
