There was a collision between a pickup truck and a traffic signal  pole at the Des Moines Memorial Drive South and South 160th Street  intersection around 2 a.m. today, resulting in a

closure.

King County Roads and the City are working on the clean up and  traffic control through the intersection. The damage resulted in closing  half of the intersection to traffic, which

restricts movement through  the area.

Traffic delays are expected as the closure is scheduled to last up to  24 hours until the pole is replaced and the signal is functioning.
