WE ARE OPEN!

Finally, after over 2 years of having our doors closed to the public, we are open and ready to serve you.

We hope you are able to swing by and see the many improvements we have  made to your City Hall. As you know, our City Hall building is very old  (that’s what gives it its charm). We needed to comply with the CDC  guidelines and provide proper air ventilation in our building. This  included abating the building for asbestos before adding a HVAC system.  Which also meant, tearing up the floors in City Hall. Thank goodness the  Federal funding from the American Rescue Plan Act covered nearly all of  these costs.

During the closure we also illuminated court  services at City Hall. We now contract with King County Municipal  District Court. This will be a great deal of savings to our community.  We are in the process of remodeling the court office space and the  Mayor’s office into essentially 5 office spaces. By creating these  spaces it will allow for staff to more efficiently serve you.

Since we have been closed, we have had several retirements, mostly among  department managers. When you come to City Hall you will see some  familiar faces and some new ones. I assure you the new ones are just as  eager to see you as our staff members who have been with the City a  number of years. An additional service we have been able to implement is  doing more things online. We hope this help those who are unable to get  to City Hall during normal business hours.

So, welcome back into  your City Hall! We hope you like the changes and find our staff as  friendly as they have always been. Let’s hope the worst of this is  behind us, and we can keep our doors open to serve you.

 See you soon,
Mayor Leanne Guier
