Of the 3,211 people living in Algona in 2019, 47.6 percent (1,528) were women and 52.4 percent (1,683) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the South King News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by a ratio of 1,107-to-928. In the 65 and over age range, there were 144 females and 118 males.
