Smith stated, “Senator Booker has been holding the Senate floor since 7 pm last night — it’s been 14 hours and he’s still going strong. I support Senator Booker’s efforts to bring attention to the dangers of the Trump Administration’s reckless policies.”

In another post on April 1, 2025, Rep. Smith mentioned a conversation with a Washingtonian resident named Akilina, who shared concerns about potential Medicaid cuts. He said, “I heard from Akilina in Seattle about how cuts to Medicaid could have a real impact on Washingtonians.” He invited others to share their stories via a provided link.
