Rep. Adam Smith, U.S. Congressman representing Washington’s 9th district since 1997, posted a series of updates on his official X account about transportation services, military appreciation, and recent boat strikes.

On December 13, 2025, Smith emphasized the importance of accessible public transit for local communities: “Providing reliable transportation services helps students and workers get to school and their jobs. I fully support extending affordable light-rail service to Federal Way as an important step in strengthening our workforce.”

Later that day, he acknowledged the dedication of young military personnel during a major sporting event: “I’m proud to join our service members during today’s Army vs. Navy game. Thankful to these young cadets and midshipmen who are dedicating themselves to our nation’s military.” (December 13, 2025)

In a subsequent post on December 14, Smith addressed recent maritime incidents: “I joined @MSNOWNews to discuss what happened during the boat strikes on September 2.”
