U.S. Representative Adam Smith, who has represented Washington’s 9th district in Congress since 1997, shared updates on recent visits and meetings across King County through a series of social media posts on July 29, 2025.

In one post dated July 29, Smith wrote about his visit to a local men’s shelter: “On Friday, I visited @PorchLightCares in Bellevue, a 100-bed men’s shelter that is tackling homelessness in King County. I thank the Mayor of @bellevuewa Lynne Robinson for joining this important visit. Really appreciate all you’re doing for people in our district.”

Later the same day, Smith posted about participating in an emergency management roundtable: “Yesterday in Renton, I joined a @WAStateEMAssoc Roundtable. Really appreciate the conversation about improving emergency management and better supporting our constituents during times of crisis.”

Smith also highlighted infrastructure developments at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SeaTac) with another post: “I had the chance to check out @flySEA Airport’s C Concourse, which is currently being expanded. SeaTac is so important for bringing visitors into the area, employing thousands in the district, and connecting Seattle with the rest of the country. I look forward to seeing the”

Smith has served as U.S. Representative for Washington’s 9th District since replacing Randy Tate in 1997 and previously served in the Washington State Senate from 1991 to 1997. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1965 and now residing in Bellevue, Smith holds degrees from Fordham University and the University of Washington.
