Rep. Adam Smith, U.S. Congressman representing Washington’s 9th district since 1997, has used social media to highlight recent constituent interactions and issues discussed during his virtual town halls.
On August 16, Smith shared that “Kristopher asked me two questions last night during our Virtual Town Hall, firstly about the release of the Epstein files and secondly about protecting the Smithsonian museums from censorship and whitewashing.” The following day, he posted about his office’s support for constituents navigating federal services: “Whether it’s an immigration case or renewing a passport, my office is here to help you. I appreciate Savio for sharing his story after reaching out to my office for assistance and I’m glad we were able to help.”
On August 18, Smith referenced another town hall exchange: “Sharon from Kent asked me about the recent redistricting fights across the nation during my town hall last night.”
Smith has represented Washington’s 9th district in Congress since succeeding Randy Tate in 1997 and previously served in the Washington State Senate from 1991 to 1997. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1965, Smith resides in Bellevue and holds degrees from Fordham University (BA) and the University of Washington (JD).
