Rep. Adam Smith, a U.S. Congressman representing Washington’s 9th district, recently posted a series of updates on his social media regarding his work and staff.

On December 16, 2025, Smith wrote: “I joined @MSNOWNews to discuss the boat strikes in the Caribbean.” Later that same day, he posted: “This afternoon, I spoke with @CNN about releasing the video of the second boat strike on September 2nd.”

In another post on December 16, Smith acknowledged his staff: “Special thanks to my interns for their outstanding service to Washington’s Ninth District in my D.C. office. As they enter their final week, I want to recognize their hard work over the past few months on behalf of our constituents. Best of luck to you.”

Smith has served as a member of Congress since 1997 after replacing Randy Tate and previously worked in the Washington State Senate from 1991 to 1997. He was born in Washington, D.C., in 1965 and currently resides in Bellevue. Smith earned his BA from Fordham University in 1987 and obtained a JD from the University of Washington in 1990.
