Rep. Adam Smith, a U.S. Congressman representing Washington’s 9th district since 1997, posted several updates on social media this week addressing both international and local issues.
On December 8, Smith shared that he had spoken with ABC’s This Week regarding recent developments in Venezuela, stating: “I spoke with @ThisWeekABC about the video of the second strike on a boat in Venezuela.”
The following day, December 9, Smith commented on an interview with George Stephanopoulos about media accountability: “I spoke with George Stephanopoulos about Pete Hegseth’s refusal to take accountability.”
Later that same day, Smith addressed ongoing weather concerns affecting his home state: “Atmospheric river flooding continues to impact Western Washington, and is expected to continue through Friday. Smith has represented Washington’s 9th District in Congress since replacing Randy Tate in 1997 and previously served in the Washington State Senate from 1991 to 1997. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1965 and currently residing in Bellevue, Smith holds degrees from Fordham University (BA) and the University of Washington (JD).
