U.S. Representative Adam Smith, who serves Washington’s 9th district, addressed recent national security events and the ongoing struggle for equality in a series of posts on December 6, 2025.
In one post, Smith stated: “I spoke with @kaitlancollins about the video of the second strike on a boat on September 2.” (posted December 6, 2025).
Later that day, he commented on the legacy of slavery in the United States, writing: “160 years after the abolishment of slavery, we must remember that the fight for equality is ongoing. Americans have to work together to stand up for justice for all people.” (posted December 6, 2025).
In another post that evening, Smith said: “I spoke with @MSNOWNews about Pete Hegseth’s role as Secretary of Defense.” (posted December 6, 2025).
Smith has represented Washington’s 9th congressional district since 1997 after succeeding Randy Tate. He previously served in the Washington State Senate from 1991 to 1997. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1965 and currently residing in Bellevue, Smith holds degrees from Fordham University and the University of Washington.
