Rep. Adam Smith, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 9th district, posted a series of statements on social media regarding recent boat strikes in the Caribbean and related legal concerns.

On December 2, 2025, Smith stated, “I spoke to @CNN this afternoon about the legality of the boat strikes in the Caribbean.” The following day, he added via another post dated December 3, 2025: “I joined @Morning_Joe to discuss the bipartisan concern about the boat strikes in the Caribbean.” Later that same day, Smith continued his commentary by saying, “Yesterday, I spoke with @MSNOWNews about this administration’s view of the rule of law.”

Smith has served as a U.S. Representative since 1997 after replacing Randy Tate and previously served in the Washington State Senate from 1991 to 1997. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1965 and currently residing in Bellevue at age 57, Smith holds degrees from Fordham University (BA) and the University of Washington (JD).
